Can You Lose 10 Pounds In A Month?

I was just asked a similar question today and it was 'weighing' on my mind.  I was thinking, can this be done safely?  Can you lose this much that quickly and still create strength and endurance?  I figure, with bumping up your exercise program, cutting your caloric intake a bit, eating lean protien, watching out for sugar and don't over do the carbs, you possibly could.  Even if you didn't reach the goal of 10 pounds, you could lose 7 or 8...  which is great, too!!! 
  • My suggestion is to do a high cardio class, such as Indoor or Outdoor Cycling 3 times a week, minimum, and do weight bearing exercises or classes 3 times a week.  There are tons of videos out there now for you to choose from to do at home, like P90X and Insanity, or you can go to your gym.  You can track your calories out...  here are some totals from exercises that you may be interested in seeing:    http://stayfitwithjudi.blogspot.com/2011/01/are-you-burning-as-many-calories-as-you.html

So, for anyone who is just interested in losing a few pounds or many, these are all good tips.  The main thing is not expect weight loss over night.  There are no quick fixes...  we can just do our best everyday!  Each day, focus on your health, your longevity, your life, not your appearance.  A beautiful you is a healthy, strong, whole you!!!!
