Why would you skip? Some people that I have talked to say they skip because it makes them feel tired after a meal! That only happens if your meal is too big. Breakfast shouldn't be heavy!! I suggest finding a breakfast meal which best suites you. Some of us might be oatmeal eaters while others are egg eaters. A nice nutritious smoothie would do the trick... I personally like a handful of raw almonds and a banana. But who says you have to eat breakfast food at breakfast?! If its a sandwich you want, go for it!
Why is eating breakfast so important? Firstly it kick starts your metabolism. Keep in mind you haven’t eaten now for about 8 hours so one should kick up their metabolism to get the calories burning. Also skipping breakfast can lead to late day snacking.
You might not realize this at the time but I assure you when you start nibbling on snacks and still find yourself hungry at around 4pm this is because your body is actually lacking proper nutrients that it could have gotten at breakfast.
Another reason not to skip breakfast is because a majority of your hard work is done at the beginning of the day. Not only does your body need nutrients so does your brain! The best way to lose weight or to just plain start eatng better is to start with breakfast!

Here is a recipe for a nutritious smoothie, full of antioxidants and vitamins naturally:
Blueberry Mango Energy Smoothie
- 1/2 cup blueberries
- 1 handful frozen mango chunks
- 1 cup cold orange juice
- 1/2 cup yogurt, plain or naturally flavored (I use Trader Joe's Organic Vanilla)
- 1/4 cup wheat germ
- 1/2 banana
- handful of ice cubes
- for added nutrition I add a handful of baby spinach... you can't taste it, the blueberries mask the spinach!!
Blend everything in a blender... a powerful blender works best for the ice. I own a BLENDTECH and I use it DAILY! Best investment I have made in a kitchen utensil.. Maybe my next posting should be about my blender!!
