- Nut and seed butters (peanut butter, almond butter, cashew butter, pecan and walnut butters, pumpkin seed butter, sunflower seed butter, tahini, and on and on and on) with just about anything you can imagine: • Fruit slices dipped in a favorite nut/seed butter
- Cubes of avocado mixed with salsa or chopped tomatoes--alone or rolled in a whole grain tortilla or atop a slice of whole grain bread
- Granola mixed with fruit, applesauce, yogurt and or grain/soy milk alternative
- Air popped popcorn topped with flaxseed/olive oil and salt
- This one sounds gross, but even my extremely picky son likes it: Dried Seaweed, some come seasoned!
- Bananas covered in nut/seed butter then rolled in coconut flakes
- Bananas cut in slices, then rolled in cocoa, then top each slice with coconut flakes.. SO GOOD!!
- Garlic Toast: Take whole grain bread, rub garlic clove on it and drizzle with olive heat, heat in a low temp. toaster over for a few minutes
- Home Baked Tortilla Chips with Salsa: Spray or lightly rub corn tortillas with either olive oil or an organic vegetable oil and then sprinkle with sea salt. Bake in a low temp oven for about 10 min., flip over and bake for 10 more until crispy. When done, just break into pieces (you can precut the tortillas into small triangles, but that is on the time consuming side to lay them out and then to flip them over, whole workds just fine... and, in our house, the spicier the salsa, the better!!
- SMOOTHIES, OF COURSE!!! Here is a recipe for a smoothie that I posted on my blog in January... but the sky is the limit for smoothie ideas!!!http://stayfitwithjudi.blogspot.com/2011/01/do-you-eat-breakfast-plus-great.html
